How to Reach 

our retreat center


Less than two hours from Paris and very close to the Perche Regional Natural Park, our retreat center is located near the village of Saint Cosme en Vairais in Sarthe. Away from the hustle and bustle but easily accessible by car or train, our location is a perfect compromise between modernity and authenticity.

By Car

Our spiritual retreat center is located 175 km from Paris, three kilometers from the center of Saint Cosme en Vairais. If you use a GPS, you can indicate:


  • The address: Les Hautes Grouas, 72110 Saint Cosme en Vairais

  • The GPS coordinates: 48.27518, 0.48396. 

Here is a road map for a journey of less than two hours from Paris:

  1. Take the A6 motorway, direction Lyon/Bordeaux;

  2. At the junction, take the A10 towards Bordeaux/Nantes/Chartres;

  3. At the junction, take the A11 towards Chartres/Le Mans;

  4. Take exit 5 towards La Ferté-Bernard;

  5. Head towards the city center, then the station;

  6. Take the departmental D2 towards Saint Cosme en Vairais for 3 km;

  7. Before entering Saint Cosme, take the intersection towards Contres (municipal road C405)

  8. Turn left at the “Les Hautes Grouas” intersection.

By Train


Every day of the week, around twenty regional TER trains run between Paris Montparnasse and La Ferté-Bernard stations, about ten of which are direct. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. Prices are fixed, and no reservation is required. If you miss your train, your ticket remains valid for the rest of the day.

Traveling from London or Amsterdam ? Please check the Eurostar website to get to Paris Gare du Nord station, then take the metro (line 4 - a 20 minute direct trip) to get to Paris Montparnasse station.
In some cases, you can gain some time and avoid passing through Paris city, by transfering at Brussels, Lille, Marne la Vallée Chessy or Paris CDG airport stations, and get a train to Le Mans station. Then, take a train from Le Mans station to La Ferté Bernard, which is 25 minutes (two stations) away from your target destination.


If you wish, we can pick you up by car at the La Ferté Bernard station and accompany you back at the end of the retreat. Plan a twenty minutes car journey, and count 7 € of participation in the costs for each outward or return journey. Please request this when registering.

Regarding spiritual retreats starting on a Friday evening, we recommend taking the 3:03 p.m. train from Gare Montparnasse (arrival at La Ferté Bernard at 4:59 p.m.). If you are arriving after 6 p.m., please let us know as soon as possible.

From Le Mans town, Aleop buses go to Saint Cosme en Vairais in one hour, at different times every day.
